Silvia Canavero

Silvia Canavero graduated in foreign languages and literature (Russian, Hungarian and Swedish) from her hometown’s State University. She perfected her study of Hungarian by attending the Debreceni Nyári Egyetem and other language and culture courses in Budapest and Szeged. In 2012, she won the Estroverso translation prize for works of children’s literature with her translation of the fairy tale The Fairy Who Sees in the Dark by László Bagossy. She also works as a translator from Swedish and Faroese, languages from which she has worked for Mondadori, Solferino and Errekappa. She collaborates with the publishing house Bibliografica and Edizioni del Gattaccio as a proofreader. She holds a diploma in violin from the Conservatorio G.Verdi in Milan and works as a teacher and violinist. She is also passionate about calligraphy and running.
