THE BOOK

Mia is 14 years old, lives in Budapest and, since her mother is gone, has been living with her father and little brother. She likes to read and listen to music, when she is nervous she feels the need to count things or turn the light off and on again all the time, and turning her bracelet seven times around her wrist makes her feel calmer. Some would say she is strange, but in the end she faces the same difficulties as other girls her age: school, disloyal classmates, first crushes.
Maja is 70 years old, has a son named Ádám who lives in London and the dachshund Tomhanks to keep her company. She loves walking in parks and shopping in a little shop behind her house, where no one notices that she sometimes slips something into her handbag without paying…
You would think they have nothing in common, yet Maja is able to glimpse the woman Mia will become, and Mia is able to bring out the little girl who still lives inside Maja.
A chance encounter gives rise to an unusual and colourful friendship.

A story that builds a bridge between two seemingly opposite generations
