THE BOOK

Nefeli feels she belongs nowhere and to no group, sometimes not even to herself. It is as if the colours in her life are fading, absorbed by one of those colour catchers her mother uses in the washing machine. Asperger’s syndrome has earned Ionas the title of the weirdest teenager in school. He may not be able to tie his shoes or smile, but he has an impressive intelligence. And above all, he never lies. Then there is Adela, beautiful and independent. For her loneliness and discrimination are nothing new, since to her classmates she is just “the Albanian”. Being an outsider brings the three friends closer together, but also makes them an easy target for those who feel threatened by their diversity.
