Seeds and roots: remembering the past to change the future

A profound, moving, beautifully illustrated novel about the importance of memory. In this story, Polish writer Cezary Harasimowicz introduces a very special narrator: the Mirabella tree. Grown up in the Warsaw ghetto, Mirabella has seen History pass under her branches: the Nazi invasion, the Holocaust, Stalinism, but also the cement that ate away the green corners of the city. A bittersweet book that offers wonderful food for thought: if in the Jewish tradition planting a tree symbolises life that goes on, today this gesture can change our future, helping us to cope with the climate crisis we are experiencing.
The book presentation will be followed by a workshop, during which we will cultivate (literally) together with our readers a new hope for our planet.

Participants will include:
Cezary Harasimowicz, screenwriter, actor and playwright, his scripts have been turned into successful TV series and films. He is also the author of radio plays and TV dramas. Winner of the international Hartley-Merill Screenwriting Award, he works with the best Polish directors and is a member of the European Film Academy. For MIMebù he is the author of Mirabella.
